Where FaceID will be less effective than TouchID is the inevitable passage of time on the human face. With age our fingerprints do not change, however our weight, our laugh lines, freckles, dimples you name it, will stretch, sag, contort and life will happen. It’s probably not a huge issue but expect to have to re-train your FaceID if you keep your phone for a reasonable period of time (2+ years)

@chidgey Nobody outside Apple engineering really has any idea how Face ID works, but if their neural net works as it claims, I wouldn't expect aging to be an issue
